Workshop on Sensitization of Teachers in Use of New Technology
The ICEVI India with the support of ICEVI West Asia completed 2 days workshop in sensitization of teachers with visual impairment who are teaching in regular schools. The workshop was conducted at Blind People’s Association during 3rd and 4th February, 2023. The topics of the workshop included use of Orbit Reader as an educational tool; effective class teaching by visually impaired teachers; smart phone as an educational tool; use of Daisy Player and other digital tools for education; and effective methods and techniques of teaching various subjects. These sessions were conducted by eminent faculty including Nandini Rawal, Bipin Mehta, Ranchhod Soni, Yahaya Sapatwala and Mr Hemanshu Sompura. The workshop was coordinated by Mr Tarak Luhar. Next such Workshop shall be organized for teachers with visual impairment teaching in special schools. The feedback of the participants was encouraging and they desired such more Workshops.
