“ Meet Mr Rafiul Alam, Honorary Technology Advisor of ICEVI WA”

ICEVI West Asia Appoints an Honorary Technology Advisor

 

The ICEVI WA appoints Mr Khandaker Md. Rafiul Alam of Bangladesh as its Honorary Technology Advisor. He is at present working as Head of Business Operation of the Genweb2 Limited, Dhaka, Bangladesh. With Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) from East West University, Bangladesh, Rafiul has various prestigious projects to his credit including Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Including NDD through ICT and Accessible Job Portal. He very successful demonstrated salient features of innovative job portal known as “Emporia” which stands for Accessible E-learning and Job Portal for Persons with Disabilities in Bangladesh. The objective is to develop the Persons with Disabilities as skilled manpower on ICT, promote their education and employment, make them contributing citizens to build digital Bangladesh and achieve the Goals of Vision 2021 of Government of Bangladesh and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

This virtual event was jointly organizes by Centre for Services and Information on Disability (CSID), Bangladesh and ICEVI West Asia. The response to this event was so fantastic that 100 participants joined the meeting at the designated time and many prospective participants were disappointed as they could not get entry. All the participants appreciated depth of knowledge of Rafiul, his excellent understanding of technology related needs of persons with different categories of disabilities and his commitment to digital literacy and use of information technology for promoting skill development, e-learning and employment of persons with disabilities through the use of this portal. The participants felt that this portal can be used with some modifications in different countries of West Asia.

The ICEVI WA is pleased to announce that Md. Rafiul Alam son of our ICEVI Member from Bangladesh Mr. Khandaker Jahurul Alam, Executive Director, CSID has gracefully given his consent to provide his services as Honorary Advisor to ICEVI WA for promoting accessible and appropriate technology for persons with disabilities in the region.
